After a big day scouting elk or slaying your favorite fishing hole, come back to camp and chef up this one for all the guys and gals.  Our proprietary dehydrated marinara sauce is easily rehydrated with a little hot water.  Add sautéed garlic, Alaskan reindeer sausage, sun dried tomatoes, and veggies to your sauce and dump it over a steaming bowl of trI-colored rotini.   You might want to pick up a couple of these!

AK Reindeer Rotini

MINIMUM EQUIPMENT: 2 pots or 1 pot and a skillet, stove, serving spoon or spatula, food bowl.

MEAL PREPARATION

  1. Boil 32 oz. (1 quart) of water.  If you are cooking mutiple servings, boil more water.
  2. Combine dried veggies, torn-up marinara leather, and sun dried tomatoes to a bowl, pot, or your reusable food bag. Add just enough boiling water to cover the dry ingredients.  Stir thoroughly, cover, and set aside for at least 10 minutes.
  3. You might need to add a little more water to your pot. Bring water back to a boil, add pasta, and cook until tender (9-11 minutes). Drain and set aside.
  4. Warm olive oil in a pan over medium heat and add sliced reindeer sausage. Sauté for 2-3 minutes, and then add sauce mix to the pan. Stir over medium heat for another 2-3 minutes. 
  5. Combine sausage marinara with pasta and stir until pasta is completely coated.  Top with Parmesan cheese and serve.

One Pot Method 1 SERVING

  1. Boil 20 oz. of water. As your water is boiling, slice up Reindeer Sausage into thin discs.
  2. Once your water comes to a rolling boil, add all ingredients to your pot. Save the Parm Cheese as a topper on your finished meal.
  3. Continue boiling all ingredients over med-high heat for 10-12 minutes. Stir often.
  4. Top with Parm Cheese and serve.

Cook Time 17 minutes
