  • "Carbonara Pasta. YUM. Each piece of bacon was like a little gem of flavor, the meal was easy and the peas added a nice element of freshness—but for a weight that was less than what I typically pack for my own pasta meals. THE BACON WAS AMAZING... Where can I get some more?! Overall, this was my fave of the meals we tried. Spot-on in terms of serving size and flavor."  Kristy Holland- BACKPACKER Magazine
  • "The packaging is great and the recipes are very easy to understand and prepare.  The food was awesome!" Mark and Joan Strobel- September 2012
  • "I pulled out that Basil Pistachio Penne dinner the next night...wow! The friend that I hike with has been in Mountaineers for 15 years and said that this was the best dinner meal he has ever had on the trail! He pulled out his camera when I started reducing the white wine."  Kirk Dawson- September 2012
  • "The Adventure Appetites staff  was great to work with.  They were friendly, accommodating and made planning our Little Swiss trip that much easier with hassle of food shopping and menu planning all but removed.   Their  food was dynamite. The breakfasts were tasty, filling,  and provided great fuel for our days on the Pika.  The lunches were just as great, easy to take on the go, and filling to keep us seeking out lines well into the later parts of the day without heading back to camp. Nothing could compare though to the great taste of the dinners after a day of climbing and skiing.  The Red Enchilada, Cabonara Pasta, and Chili mac were camp faves and will be a must take on our next AK adventure.  The easy follow recipes and inclusion of all ingredients needed made cooking a cinch especially in a winter camping environment.  As we work on preparations for our next Alaska ski mountaineering adventure; Adventure Appetites will definitely be going with us again!!!"  Jared Bissen- May 2013
  • "Hats off to the cook. The food was incredibly tasty. My sandwiches were the envy of the team. Desserts were out of this world. The meal packaging (single bag per meal) was incredible. I've seen NPS Rangers spend hours on food packaging. You did everything I needed, and it kept my setup highly organized and packing out the trash was incredibly simple."                  Matthew Kamatsu- April 2013
  • "I really loved the food and packaging plus the convenience factor was amazing." Kara Oney- February 2013
  • "Julie and I had a good sheep hunt and enjoyed the food quality and generous servings you provided for us. A little more effort than dumping hot water in a bag but well worth it."  Shawn-October 2012
  • "We got back last week from our various adventures in the Grand Canyon and I wanted to drop you a note to say thanks! The salsa leather was a hit. Sun dried tapanade was also good. Loved the oil packets & tapatio that were included. The portions were just right."  Ruth Glenn- May 2013
  • "The food was righteous. I will do it again for sure."  Marc Kornmesser- May 2013
  • "Lemme start by saying that all our fellow campers on the trail were completely jealous of our meals and were all asking, by the end of the trip, "What are you cooking THIS time?" The fragrance of the cooking process was an extremely effective marketing tool. We were able to tell many campers all about the delicious meals we got from AA, and ultimately used them as a bartering tool and exchanged a couple extra meals we had for an equally useful tool, BEER!  Ultimately, we were EXTREMELY pleased with our food from Adventure Appetites, and will most assuredly be using your services in the future. It made our trip, and the whole hike, even that much more enjoyable."      Camy Van Sickle & Abby Chitty- July 2013
  • "I think of you and wish I were planning a trip there, but when I do the next one, I will be taking a new dehydrated meal product made by  Adventure Appetite, Anchorage, AK. I met the owner, Dan Oberlatz, at a Salmonstock Music Festival, and sampled two of the meals. Incredible, they are MANY times better than any product now on the market. They ship anywhere, lucky me."                       Diann Warner- August 2013
